Thank you to everyone for your help with opening day. We are still looking for more people to help in the mornings to get all the goals, nets, etc out to the fields, we start at 7am. We also need help getting everything put away in the afternoons. If you are interested in helping in the snack bar you just need to turn yourself in there.

With the hard work of our Region 1200 board of directors we got a lot accomplished today. We were able to get all 14 of our playing fields lined and they are ready for games. We held a yard sale and raised some money for your kids' program. And...Picture Day...we got almost 1600 individual and 190 team photos shot. Wew....what a day...great job people! Thank you to our picture crew- Samantha and Lisa; yard sale crew- Betsy, Laura, Samantha's mom; snack bar crew- Judy and Diane; field crew- Will, Alex, Dave, Chevi, Lino, and Gabriel. Thanks again to everyone.

Today we held our region referee training course. In attendance we had 70+ youth referees. They each completed the training and testing required to officiate the U8 and U10 games. These kids have volunteered to help out so that the younger players can play games. Without referees the games could not happen. Please support these kids as they do this difficult job.

We had almost 200 individuals in attendance this past weekend for coach training. Everyone went through the Safe-Haven class which deals with child and volunteer protective issues. Part of this program is doing background checks on all of our volunteers. We are making every effort to maintain a safe environment for our kids. The volunteers then split off into the various age-specific training classes. On Sunday all the coaches came back to get their teams, equipment, uniforms, etc.
In addition to the coaches who spent the a big part of their weekend for your kids, I cannot say enough good things about our board members who each put in many, many hours over the past 3 or 4 weeks to get everything ready for registration, team hand-outs, and training. This group deserves everyone's thanks for their hard work and our respect for their dedication to your kids' program.
Thanks again to all of you who have volunteered. I know our kids will have a great season!

Region 1200 hosted the Area H Intermediate coach class on Sept 12, 13 at Landau Elem School. It was well attended by coaches from all over the valley. Thank you to Judy Engel, Diane Keat, Jim Engel for putting on a quality event for everyone in Area H. Thank you also to the Landau Elem staff.

This past weekend we hosted an Advanced Coach training class for Area H. On Sunday seven of our players came out and participated in some drills and short-sided games for the coaches benefit. They were a big help and helped make the class a success. "Thank you!" to Martin Meza, Michael Rodales, Raul Correa, AJ Gonzalez, Gilbert Amaton, Ayrton Carrazco, and Denny Keat.
