AYSO PHILOSOPHIES

Everyone Plays
Every player in Region 1200 plays 3 quarters before any teammate plays 4.  Our V.I.P. program also gives children with special needs the opportunity to play soccer.

Open Registration
No local boundaries.  No try-outs and no cuts.  All that is required is interest and enthusiasm.

Balanced Teams
No stacked teams.  All teams are re-created each season with a cross-section of talent and experience.

Positive Coaching
We train our coaches to offer positive instruction and encouagement rather than negative criticism.

Good Sportsmanship
AYSO strives to create a positive environment based on respect rather than a win-at-all-costs attitude.

Player Development
Enjoyment of the game for the players is enhanced by improvement of technical skills and better understanding of soccer tactics.  Our coaching
program is focused on player development.

Fund Raiser underway...
AYSO Region 1200 is now selling tickets to the
Kraft Nabisco Championship (the Dinah Shore).
We receive 100% of all ticket sales designated to us.
Tickets can be bought through the tournament's website:
www.KNCgolf.com
Please ask all your friends to buy their tickets through the website and to designate the American Youth Soccer Organization as their charity of choice.
All money raised through this program will benefit our general fund to help pay for equipment, uniforms, field expenses, etc.  This will help us to keep sign-up fees low so that everyone can play.
Please forward this message to your friends, associates, customers, vendors, or even complete strangers.  Help us keep soccer affordable for everyone in our community.

All good things come to an end...
As the season ends we say "Thank you!" again to everyone who gave of their time and energy to make this such a good time for the kids.  Without the help of our coaches, team parents, referees, and youth referees these kids would not be playing.

I hope you will all be back in the fall to do it again.  And bring a friend or two who hasn't played AYSO yet.  Watch this site for info on upcoming sign-up dates and other events and info.

If you did not coach a team this season, please do it next year.  It's not hard. In fact it can be quite fun and rewarding.  You get to spend valuable time with your child while you are also making a positive difference in the lives of other kids.

We have training and support for all new coaches.  Please jump in and help us, you'll have a great time.

Census coming soon...
The U.S. Census is an official count by the government of all people living in the USA.  It is done every 10 years.  The count is used by the federal gov't to allot tax dollars back to states, cities, school districts.  Approximately $300 billion per year go to fund roads, teachers, public safety & parks.  The gov't estimates about $1000 per year goes back to the community for every person counted- it is critical that everyone takes part in the Census.  In the 2000 Census it was estimated 42% of Cathedral City residents did not take part- we lost about $225 million over the past 10 years we could be using for police officers, firemen, roads, or parks.  The Census is only to count people- citizenship is not questioned- all information is confidential- please take part in the Census- please tell your friends and neighbors to participate- please.
